Educational Qualifications:

Category I (Lower Primary):

  • Intermediate with a minimum of 45% marks and completion of a 2-year Teacher Training Course (TTC) or its equivalent.
  • Intermediate with at least 45% marks and possession of a 2-year diploma in elementary education accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
  • Intermediate with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks and completion of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Category II (Upper Primary):

  • Possession of a B.A/B.Sc/B.Com degree with at least 45% marks and completion of a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC).
  • Attainment of a B.A/B.Sc/B.Com degree with a minimum of 45% marks and acquisition of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
  • Intermediate with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and completion of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Category III (High School):

  • Holding a B.A/B.Sc/B.Com degree with at least 45% marks and possessing a B.Ed. Degree in the relevant subject.
  • Possession of an MSc.Ed. in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Holding an MSc.Ed. in Life Science with at least 50% marks, specifically for Botany and Zoology.

Category IV (Language Teacher):

  • Meeting the qualifications stipulated for Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers, and Physical Education Teachers as per the Kerala Education Act and Rules.
  • Possession of a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in teaching any subject approved by the relevant authorities.
